Разработчик Ordinals предложил Bitcoin-клиент $DOG Mode с увеличенным лимитом транзакций

Bitcoin Ordinals developer Leonidas announced a proposal for a new open-source Bitcoin client named $DOG Mode. The client aims to remove restrictions that currently affect Ordinals inscriptions and Runes protocol transactions.
Key changes include raising the maximum individual transaction size from Bitcoin Core's 400,000 weight units to 3.9 million WU, and lowering the dust limit from 294-546 satoshis to 1 satoshi. These adjustments would allow users to embed larger files in a single transaction and send smaller amounts without having to pad outputs.
According to the developer, Bitcoin Core and Bitcoin Knots have enforced rules that are not part of the Bitcoin protocol itself. Leonidas stated that the $DOG Army is done asking for permission and aims to remove frivolous restrictions through the new client.
$DOG Mode is intended as an alternative to Bitcoin Core and Bitcoin Knots. The goal is to attract enough users so that Bitcoin Core will eventually be forced to relax its own policy restrictions on transaction size and dust.
Ordinals and Runes have been controversial within the Bitcoin community, with critics labeling them as spam on the network. Supporters argue that these applications expand Bitcoin's utility for both fungible and non-fungible tokens.
If adopted, $DOG Mode could provide a different path for Bitcoin development, bypassing the existing client's gatekeeping. The proposal highlights ongoing debates about the future direction of Bitcoin protocol rules.
